Earth Facts

It Took 15 Million Horse power too lift man off the earths surface to reach the moon. It took 6 missions between 1969-1972 and only 12 men have ever walked the surface of the moon. While they were there they collected rocks and left a 18″ Reflector plate. The rock samples were examined back on earth and there test results indicated they had a much lower iron content in them, than those of earth.

Lasers bounced to that reflector plate from earth have precise measurements that indicate that the moon is moving away from the earth approximately 1.5 inches per year.
This discovery puzzled many , and some shocking findings have come forward. And Those facts have dramatic effects on our home planet.

The moon has 1/6th gravity of earths, with 16,000 foot mountains and a -380 degree to a 205 degree climate.

Moons orbit is eliptical
Apogee 221,000 miles Greatest effect on the earth
Perigee 253,000 miles Weakest effect on earth

Lunar Genesis The Beginnings of the moon and the dramatic affects upon the earth and life on it

Approximately 4.6 Billion years ago there were many planets in our solar system. One of them, which has been named THEA was on a collision course with earth. Thea was about the size of mars, and slammed into earth at 25,000 mph. The result of the collision spun hot gases, dust, and debris into space.

But it also gave earth a wobble in its spin, and caused it to spin faster. This led to our seasons overtime. Without this wobble we would have no seasonal changes, and the earth would be a very different place, and life as we know it may have evolved quite differently.

This debris was caught in earths gravitational pull and formed a ring. These materials fused and formed a solid body which gave it mass and gravity. This gravity attracted other particles to it and over time became what we now know today as the moon.

Once Formed. the moon was only 18,000 miles from earth (Compared to its distance today of 225,000 miles away). Its effect upon earth was much more dramatic as its gravitational pull on earth created tides of over 1,000 feet high. Todays high tides may reach 50 feet in some locations.

These extremely high tides when retreating, brought nutrient rich soil back into the oceans, where it is believed that life first evolved from.
At that time earth was also spinning faster, and actually had 6 hour days, versus the 24 hour days we experience now.

So You must be wondering why is the earth spinning slower, and the moon going further away ?

WHY THE MOON IS GOING FARTHER AWAY ?

The earth spins faster than the moon circles around the earth. While we are spinning faster, that effects the moon by pushing it farther away, but our gravity stops it from moving away completely. This is best illustrated here as the moon is thrust a little further away, earth wobble, and the moons eliptical orbit is slowly tossing the moon further away.

So Then Why is the earth spinning slower than it used to ?

The moon causes a focused swelling of water on the earth, and because the moon is rotating slower than the earth is spinning, this causes a drag effect on the earths spinning inertia.
As the moon drags this focused swell in the opposite direction that earth is spinning is actually slowing our planets rotational speed.
It is now quite clear how much the moon has impacted the earths evolution and life upon it. Would life have evolved without the moon washing nutrients into the ocean ? What life forms would be predominant in an extreme hot and cold climate ?
But this is just one of many effects that has made an impact upon our stay on hotel earth.

Can the moon influence earthquakes , and volcanoes ?

There is rising evidence that Moon cycles do indeed effect both. A scientist studying Arenal volcano in Costa Rica has an 80% accuracy rate in predictions of major eruptions. The Haiti earthquake, Full MOON,
The Chile earthquake full moon, the 2004 asian earthquake and Tsunami , full moon. 2005 Pakistan Earthquake
full moon.
While not all full moons cause events, or events are near full moons are true, there are varying factors
that apply.
1. Is there a Sun Alignment (partial, full eclipse)
2. Is the moon in apogee or perigee, (Closer or farther)
3. Are conditions right in the focus zone to trigger an effect.

While scientists continue to argue validity, it does not take a high IQ to see that a very strong magnet focused on a stress point that is made of iron can trigger a reaction. While we continue to learn more about the world we live in, you can count on this. The forces around us are in constant change, and those changes can create life, and take it away.

Don’t miss our article on the magnetosphere changes , and the 3 million mile hole in the sky near brazil. It is directly in line with increased earthquake and volcanic activity coming our way.
